BOOKING QUESTIONS:
Do you only do pet portraits?
I primarily focus on pet portraits or pet related pieces as that’s what I find the most rewarding. I’d say that’s about 80% of what I do, however I love tattooing other things too! Here’s some other keywords/subject matter I love incase you’re not interested in a pet portrait:Nature/animal oriented themes, cowboy, Western, desert, Halloween/spooky, traditional imagery: lady heads/daggers/panthers, etc!
How do I submit a tattoo request?
I book via tattoo request form or email. My Instagram DMs are open to chat, but not for booking tattoos unless I'm trying to fill a spot last minute.I sort through tattoo requests based on ones I feel like I’d be the best fit for AND that have all the information I’ve asked for in them. Your request will not be considered if all the information is not provided.
How far out to do you book?
I book 2-3 months in advance. I try not to book out further than 90 days at a time.
How long is a typical session booked for?
I book sessions for 3-5 hours per sitting. I work fairly quickly and can get a lot done in that time frame. 5 hours is my max I will do per session-- this is so you receive the best outcome without overworking your skin, or myself!
Where are you located?
27 Tattoo Studio
(located in downtown Phoenix, AZ)
600 N 4th St #141
Phoenix, AZ 85004Parking:Parking is free. You can park in the underground garage located directly next to the studio in a white triangle space.(If those are full you can park in the yellow triangle spaces, or the parking garage attached to the Skyline Lofts)PLEASE allow time to navigate parking so you are not late to your appointment!
What days do you work?
I work Wednesday- Saturday & take appointments starting at 12p. (On days I'm not working on a larger piece, I will book an additional time slot at 3:30 reserved for palm sized or smaller pieces)
do you do consultations?
Yes! Just let me know in your email if you would like to schedule a consult to discuss more details.I typically find that I don’t need to do them if all the information I’ve asked for is provided, but in some cases I will ask to set one up prior to our appointment if I have any questions or concerns about your design.I offer consults mainly virtually (FaceTime or Zoom) as I find it’s easier to work with everyone’s schedules, or in person at 27 Tattoo Studio.
What if I don’t hear back from my email or booking form?
Please don't take it personally if I don't take on your request! It's most likely the tattoo you are interested in getting is something out of my ability or not necessarily a style/subject matter I am looking to pursue at the moment. If you haven’t heard back and feel your request may have been missed— please feel free to nudge!
pricing:
My hourly rate is $180/hr$100 non-refundable deposit is required to bookPayment can be made via cash, Zelle, or Venmo.Deposits are taken off of the price of your tattoo the day of your appointment. If your tattoo requires multiple sessions the deposit is taken off of your last session.
A few things to note about pet portraits:
- A portrait in my style of tattooing can generally take anywhere from 4-7 hours, depending on final size, placement, and amount of detail.- Portraits around hand size or smaller with minimal accessories/background can typically be completed in one 4-5 hour session (or split up for your comfort)- Anything with more detail or larger in size will be split between multiple sessions and can take closer to 5-7 hours (or more to complete) with sessions at least 3 weeks apart.
do you do cover ups?
I do cover ups/reworks if I feel like it's something I can take on. It's best to have multiple ideas and also be flexible with them as there are a lot of limitations when it comes to covering something.
Will you work on existing/previous work form another artist?
Yes, as long as I feel like it's something I can take on- and if not I'II do my best to give a recommendation for another artist that might be a better fit.
When do I get to see my design?
Drawings will be shown the day of your tattoo appointment, I do not show the design beforehand however I do leave room during our appointment to make minor changes/adjustments.If you're not 100% happy with your design and I need more time to make changes, we will reschedule your appointment for a later date.I do my drawings in appointment order, and typically draw up your design the night before/morning of your appointment. This is what works best for me and enables me to focus on one design at a time, giving it the attention it deserves!I don't do any designs without a deposit/appointment in place. Please make sure to familiarize yourself with my work located on my Instagram to ensure my style matches what you are looking for!
Cancellations/ Reschedules:
If you need to reschedule your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. Reschedules at least 72 hours before your appointment time will not result in loss of your deposit.Reschedules less than 72 hours before your appointment may result in loss of your deposit. No call/no shows will automatically lose your deposit. If you are 15 minutes late or more without notice, I reserve the right to withhold your deposit. This does not include if you're feeling sick or have an emergency-- communication goes a long way and I just ask that my time is respected and I will always do the same for you!If you're feeling sick in any way, or have been around anyone who's sick-- please reschedule your appointment! This will not result in loss of your deposit.
Before your appointment:
Make sure to bring a valid state photo ID.You're more than welcome to bring prepackaged snacks (banana, granola/ protein bar, etc) we always have bottled water & some goodies around the shop too.Bring comfy clothes that also allow access to the area getting tattooed, and a sweater if you tend to get cold!If you like distractions while getting tattooed, I’d recommend bringing headphones or a book! Please let me know if you need any special accommodations beforehand 🖤
Can I bring a guest?
I personally prefer no guests as space can be limited, however if you're travelling or need an emotional support buddy just let me know ahead of time! Please only one additional guest per client.
What if I am not feeling well?
This is a big one for me. I can't afford to get sick if I can potentially avoid it. So, If you're feeling sick in any way or have been around anyone who's sick-- please reschedule your appointment!
Mask policy:
Masks are optional at the shop.
On that note, here's a few of my personal preferences:There are times during the holidays or when sicknesses are going around that I will ask my clients (and myself) to be masked during our appointment. I will always ask/give notice beforehand and give the option to reschedule if it is uncomfortable for you, I totally get it! I would just prefer to be extra cautious during those times. In general, if you're coughing or sniffly, even if it's just suspected allergies-- I'll either ask you to put a mask on, or reschedule your appointment if it's bad.
Basically, be considerate and I will do the same🖤. If you'd prefer a masked appointment just let me know ahead of time!
What are your thoughts on numbing creams?
PLEASE DO NOT show up with numbing cream applied to your skin (unless we have previously discussed it!) Otherwise I will have to reschedule your appointment and your deposit will be forfeited.I personally prefer to work without pre-numbing creams as there are a lot of variables that can be added to the tattooing process as well as healing.BUT, I always have Bactine on hand to be used during the tattooing process (after outline). This is a spray that contains 4% lidocaine which can help take away the extra sting of getting tattooed for prolonged periods of time.I will always do my best to help you through your tattoo/take breaks when needed-- tattoos hurt and I want you to be as comfy as possible when stabbing you with many needles repeatedly ;).

Pet Photo Tips:
Your tattoo will only be as good as your reference photo is, here’s some helpful tips for your next tattoo!
While my style does allow for artistic interpretation, having a strong reference photo helps me do so more accurately.

Lighting:
Natural light will always be the best option! Whether it’s outside or by a window. Try to avoid backlighting your pets as this can create harsh shadows. You want their coat color to be as true to real life as possible.

For the best tattoo references, getting on the floor/ground with your pet at eye-level is best.

Reward heavily!
Your models want to get paid and they deserve compensation! Most importantly, keep it fun! Don’t make this a stressful event and try it in small doses to get your pet comfortable.

Pet wont stay still?
Try a video! If you have an iPhone, turn on Live Photos— both of these options are great reference to screenshot different angles. Hold a treat or their favorite toy by the camera or make a silly noise that will grab their attention.
a little about me & the “why” behind what i do:
Hi, my names Lina! I’m a tattoo artist based in Phoenix, Arizona. I specialize in bold & bright tattooing with a heavy focus on pet portraits as well as other animal related subject matter.

It wasn’t until recently that I started shifting my focus to pet tattoos. I wanted to find a way to blend my love of tattooing with my love of animals— and over the years I’ve found that pet portraits are what feel the most rewarding to me.I also wanted to be a safe space for those going through pet loss to process their grief. While I wasn’t anticipating the amount of memorial tattoos I would end up doing, its something that I feel grateful to be entrusted with and that I strive to be mindful of when creating a tattoo for someone.Whether its a memorial, or a silly tattoo of your pet in a hot dog costume— It’s not just another tattoo to me. I truly love what I do and couldn’t do it without you.Outside of tattooing— You’ll find me hanging out with my husband, our two cats, and our Pomeranian named Basil (who you’ll notice is a huge influence in my work!)Because of her, I’m a big dog nerd. She is my first dog, and has not been the easiest for a first time dog guardian— but she sparked a passion for learning about dog behavior, advocacy, and training. So if you’re into that kind of thing, I LOVE to learn from others or maybe even get the chance to share something I’ve learned along the way.I love that tattooing allows me to connect with people that cherish the bond they have with their pets, and that I get to play a small role in their story together.
Aftercare:
Leave bandage on overnight for larger projects, or 3-4 hours minimum for smaller. When you remove the bandage, wash your tattoo gently with warm water and anti-bacterial soap (Dial Gold is my favorite) removing all plasma and excess ink.Do not re-bandage.Pat tattoo dry with a clean paper towelWith clean hands, apply a thin coat of unscented lotion 2-3x per day.Recommendations: Aveeno, Lubriderm or Cerave. If you prefer a balm, Hustle Butter is also an amazing product you can order off Amazon easily.PLEASE NO Aquaphor, vaseline, coconut oil, cocoa butter or petroleum based ointments! These can easily be applied incorrectly and not allow the tattoo to breathe, creating large scabs, breakouts around/on the tattoo, etc.Peeling and light scabbing may occur. Let flakes fall off naturally. Do NOT pick or scratch your new tattoo.Average healing time is 2 weeks. While your tattoo is healing:Do NOT swim in chlorinated/salt water, lakes, jacuzzi, steam for at least 2 weeks.Avoid excessive sun exposure (do not apply sunscreen to a healing tattoo)Be cautious when working out, or skip the gym to avoid any potential issues. Listen to your body and your tattoo, it will tell you if you’re over exerting the area.Wipe down all equipment before and after use— ESPECIALLY before your tattoo comes in contact with anything someone else has used. For any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me!
